Bob Dylan Awarded 2016 Nobel Prize For Literature

In what has come as a complete shock to many literary enthusiasts, lyricist, Bob Dylan has been awarded the 2016 Nobel Prize for literature .

Haruki Murakami , Ngugi Wa Thiong’ o and Philip Roth were all considered frontrunners but the Nobel Prize judges picked Bob Dylan for ‘having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition’ .

Dylan was born in Minnesota on May 24 , 1941, and is the first songwriter to receive the Nobel Prize for literature
